Microsoft Corporation hosted its annual Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Toronto this week. The event primarily targeted the company’s partners who serve the middle market. Deutsche Bank also attended the event, and opined that almost every session focused on the empowerment of partners to sell cloud services, namely Office 365, Exchange, and Azure.
The event has become more cloud-focused in the current years, which demonstrates the long-run focus of the company’s strategy. The sell-side firm noted that the on-premise portfolio, which includes SQL Server database, Windows Server, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, was hardly mentioned at the conference.
